GENEROSITY WAS THE REAL JEWEL OF THE NIGHT

A fundraiser held at the Sir Stamford Hotel in September was a great success thanks to event organiser Sharon Lenton and all those who supported the night. The generosity shown by all those who donated prizes, and bid in the auction was well received by the NSW TRT.

The 'Jewel In The Night' event raised in total over $6,000 which has been gratefully received by the NSW TRT. Sharon Lenton’s vision for the event was to raise enough money to support a former racehorse through the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Program (run in conjunction with Racing NSW and NSW Corrective Services). The donations have already been put towards the retraining of a former racehorse Shadow Assassin which is currently in training at the St Heliers Correctional Facility in Muswellbrook (for more about Shadow Assassin's progress, see story below).
